Drupal Facebook Modules Part 3

Drupal Facebook Modules Part 3

A Development article written by Elle Meech

In the third instalment of the Drupal Facebook modules month of blogs we will be taking a look at the recommendation features that can be added to any Drupal site. Recommendations can give your company, product or organisation credit among social network users. Not only can it show that people recommend what you have to offer, it can give you exposure on users' and their friends' social network page.

Implementing these modules can be a great way to gain exposure and is simple and easy to use allowing smooth integration. This open source module is available to anyone using a Drupal site and web development companies such as Aspedia.

Recommendations Bar

The recommendations bar allows you to point users towards web or Facebook pages you think they might be interested in. This module pops up from the bottom right corner of the webpage and only happens when they reach the desired trigger parameters around the box. The recommendations bar also has an integrated like button.

Recommendation Box

The recommendations box is similar to the recommendations bar, whereas it shows the user recommended content. The recommendations are based on the URLs the user and their friends have visited.

You can specify a URL from which to show users content. Once this is set up the users will be shown recommended content based on your URL and the URLs they have visited.

Relevance of Such Modules

As with the rest of these Drupal modules, they are going with the times in the sense that the number of users on social networks continues to grow. Recommendations have allowed businesses to reach consumers for many years, however, technology has allowed for even more widespread credibility. Such advancements in websites included testimonials; this new age has allowed for this to go one step further with recommendations from Facebook.
