Finishing 2011 with Social Media and Local Search

Finishing 2011 with Social Media and Local Search

A Marketing article written by Lynne Newbury

The year is coming to an end and Christmas is just a few days away. Before all of us from Aspedia go on holidays, we would like to thank all of our excellent clients. We have had a great year working with them to produce innovative websites and comprehensive digital marketing strategies to meet and exceed their goals.

This year's last weekly round up post is almost all about social. Facebook have made more changes to their mobile apps and Timeline is now available for all. Google+ is bringing Business pages up to speed, and Google has improved their support for Places over 2011.

More Support for Google Places

Google Places is an important part of most business's search strategy, and 2011 has seen a lot of changes to this Google product. One of the biggest changes is the amount of support that Google provides for Place accounts.

Facebook Timeline for Everyone

Facebook has rolled out Timeline on desktop, Android and iPhones for all 800 million accounts, along with a number of other changes. These include in app access to friend lists and easier photo uploading.

Google+ adds more for Business Pages

It is finally possible to have more than one user administering a Google+ Business page, and it is also now possible to transfer ownership. When using Google+ as a page, the option to add additional managers by email address is available under 'settings'.

We will be back in the office in 2012, so Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the team at Aspedia.
